My father is a builder. It’s difficult to get his attention in magnificent spaces because he’s lost in wonder. We were in a vintage carceral-themed McDonald’s. I asked him what it would cost to build it today. I’ll never forget his answer:
“We can’t, we don’t know how to do it”
while i was deep in grief, i was researching brain waves & one thing i learned is that during severe depression/grief, we experience theta waves (which usually occur only before deep sleep) while we are awake. we literally sleepwalk through life due to sadness. just wild.
Does anyone know any Entergy New Orleans or Louisana customer who may have kept copies of their monthly bills for the last 10 years?
It would be super useful for a story I'm working on and WE WOULDN'T USE OR PUBLISH ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION.

If you are a parent of little kids I cannot recommend enough having an ER go-bag. The first few times I found myself in the ER w/ a sick kid I didn’t have anything but the shirt on my back & a purse and realized just how awful it is. Here is what I suggest: 🧵
I'm very glad no one was harmed in the Fantasmic fire last night, mostly for the obvious reasons but also because it means I have no guilt when I call this image the most amazingly metal thing I've ever seen in my life.
Rating poisonous plants by how good they are as names for non-binary people:

It is an animal + an object, following the enby naming convention of just finding a thing that is Gender™️, but makes me think of (hot) cartoon Robin Hood doing crimes. 8/10
D&D, especially 5e, has a design ethos of imitating both styles of play poorly. From 3-5 it has danced between fiction first and mechanics first w/o really committing to either.
My advice to this person would be to pick up a system that does what they like even better than D&D
@goodgnus @HarryHamishGray @MASTERQUEEF2969 Are you proposing that falling off a bike at 0 mph is the same as falling off a bike at 25 mph? Because that’s how this reads.
Me & my 3 yo discussing what we want to plant this summer.
Me: watermelon!
Him: tomatoes!
Me: strawberries!
Him: can we plant chicken?
Me, laughing: no silly. Chickens are animals.
Him, looking at me like I’ve lost it:
No, chicken the *food*.
Me: 😳
Him: can we?
Me: 😶
laissez les bon temps rouler to all who celebrate, especially our old housemate's dog who stole an entire king cake off the kitchen counter in 2007 and ate the whole thing including the baby jesus
This was one of the most incredible wildlife encounters I’ve ever had — seen while tidepooling on the Northern California coast. (Also please enjoy the look of sheer terror on my friend 😅)
