My argument builds the case by looking at excuses, exemptions, and objective attitudes in response to poor reasoning or epistemic vice. The evidentiary connection between these phenomena and blame supports the existence of blame in the epistemic domain.

By 'epistemic' blame, I just mean blame that responds to someone's perceived epistemic violation/transgression/fault. It's not some different thing than regular old moral blame--it's the same reaction or mental state(s) that simply respond to epistemic wrongs rather than moral.

A final note: on the whole "epistemic X" trend... yeah I think some of that isn't adding much of anything. But--shocker I know--I don't think the epistemic blame literature is doing that.

Well, not exactly the post I had planned: I was fortunate enough to get on three waitlists at excellent PhD programs, but none had enough movement to offer me a spot. Definitely burns for now, but the plan is to reapply in the fall. Sincere congrats to all those who got in!!
