Wolves save lives + even cars. Maybe we do want wolves in Colorado. "A behavioral response of deer to wolves...creating a 'landscape of fear.' It suggests wolves control economic damages from overabundant deer in ways that human deer hunters cannot."

@lindsaycrouse Climate scientists are critically important. But athletes can be experts too. Who else experiences nature + climate to such a degree by being in the outdoors so much? Athletes can bridge the science + how it affects the outdoor experiences that so many of us are passionate about.
@jimvance They should def consider using this as an opportunity to do World Champs in a diff location until Kona is viable again. A World Champs in a new place is better than no World Champs at all.
But why would DIA truly want to audit the slow outlying lot buses if their slowness pushes people to pay $$$ at the closer parking?

@steamboatpilot 2/2 This must have been very close to when the fire started as the smoke plume was very small, barely noticeable, and by the time we were hallway to Clark the first fire responder was coming in.
@steamboatpilot BTW, I was driving on 400 to Clark after doing Zirkle Circle and saw the fire 1/2 mile away from the intersection of 400 and Hinman Campground Rd at 1:32pm (I looked at my watch). I would say almost definitively that there was no lightning in the area around that time.
@jlentzke Prob no hard science on it since it'd be such a tough experiment to enact right? From personal experience traveling to many races over 17 years from CO, anything from the day before up to a week is all the same, just in different ways.
America. 393 million guns for 328 million people. We're a country drowning in easily accessible weapons and it threatens all of us.
