Chelsea needs to raise £60 million before they can register their new players for the UCL.

They don’t have many assets to sell right now. Arsenal know they’re in a bind. Berta has agreed terms with the player, put it into the media that the player wants out, and… waited.

There’s simply no way a club haggling over payment plans (Eze / Gyökeres), or spending more on overall fees so they can pay in installments (Zubimendi), would overpay a club desperate to shift bodies to be ready for next season.

Arsenal won’t pay £50m. They won’t pay £40m. I suspect the opening bid will be £25m with add-ons. The club has to be creative to build out the squad beyond the core buys requested. Chelsea are leaking the higher bid to save face. People need to calm down on the fee venting. Suspect this deal will drag out until the end of the window. Stay calm, everything will be ok.
