We concluded the semester with a very enjoyable Holiday Party at @UMN_Econ yesterday afternoon. I am still a bit mystified by what our students think about our department and about economics in general.

Have you wondered what caused high food prices in the United States from 2020 to 2022? What was the role of fiscal policy and money supply?
Check this new amazing paper!

This is one of the things that makes @UMN_Econ a great department: The cooperative and close relationship between faculty and students!
Thanks again @TimTkehoe !!
A great day yesterday for my Ph.D. course in international trade at @UMN_Econ! Every year since 2001 (except 2020), we end the course on a Saturday and the students, present their group research projects during the morning and then I take everyone for lunch.
It’s so sad to witness years of democratic improvements in your country being destroyed in a few months by an authoritarian government.
Mexico 🇲🇽 deserves way more than this.
Yesterday was the first Happy Hour of the academic year with @UMN_Econ !!
Love this tradition that allows students and professors to interact in a less formal environment.
With some beers, ideas and conversations flow more! 🍻💡
Andrés Manuel López Obrador claims his proposed changes to the constitution will purge the old elite and boost democracy. But most of the president’s reforms would be disastrous. His successor must help Mexico change course https://t.co/Q1koTGGoKv 👇
The changes that Mexico’s leader is making to the constitution will dent the country’s hard-won democracy and deter investors.
His successor, Claudia Sheinbaum, is in an awkward position https://t.co/8NLKKaQIwS 👇
Hi #EconTwitter#GradEcon#EconPhd
If anyone knows or has some material/recommendation for a class on Economic Growth it will be greatly appreciated!
It’s my first time teaching this course and I’m still gathering material…
Thanks!
