A 65-year-old woman was already on the path to her final send-off. Her own brother believed she was gone. She was placed in a coffin, taken to a temple, and prepared for cremation. Her story should have ended there.
But fate had other plans.
Just as the monks explained they couldn’t proceed without a death certificate, a faint knocking echoed from inside the coffin a sound so soft, so unbelievable, it froze everyone in place. When they opened it, the “dead” woman was moving. Breathing. Fighting her way back from a darkness she was never meant to enter.
It felt less like a mistake and more like a miracle a soul pulled back into the world at the very last second.
The temple rushed her to the hospital and even took responsibility for her medical care. From the edge of cremation fire to a hospital bed, she was saved in the most extraordinary way. A life reclaimed when everyone had already mourned her.
Sometimes the thin line between death and life bends and this time, it bent in her favor.
