@anauburntiger@MsMelChen@nick_matau Maybe I didn't catch him early enough, but as far as I can remember for the last 5 or 6 years, he's always been a progressive leftist.
@HughJupside@minakimes He doesn't have a case for top 10, but he has a case for HoF, though it's like 50/50. A top 10 of the last 50 years is not a fringe HoF candidate.
@razibkhan@Amina_io It is terrific movie-making, but not everyone will like the themes or genre mixing. It has, IMO, the best scene of 2025. It's well worth watching, even if it's not your cup of tea.
@IzaBooboo Seemed like they still really wanted to retain him though, and desperately doing damage control so the remaining talent and senior staff doesn't also leave.
@TheCactus71@DanielDiMartino@razibkhan Indians are following similar assimilation patterns of other immigrant groups. The first gen modestly assimilates, but 1.5 gen and 2nd gen are mostly assimilated, and pretty much fully 3rd and beyond.
@God0Lord@RajeshPrabhu@Jar3d__@George90017@DanielDiMartino The vast majority of that is due to staffing firms. The companies hiring them pay the same rates. It's the staffing firms taking a big % and underpay H1b's. This happens because most companies do not want the administrative burden of sponsoring H1b's.
@himpodimpo@stevehou@Noahpinion I donβt care if youβre pro-US, pro-Chia, pro-Russia, slop is slop.
Bias is fine, so long as you make reasoned takes. She did that with nuclear energy stuff, and early on with the pro-China stance. But she didnβt get the clicks. She no longer adds anything to the discourse.
@stevehou@Noahpinion Plus her posting style changed. When she was doing the nuclear power advocate schtick, she was pretty reasonable. But since her anti-US/West, pro-China/Russia schtick, itβs just mostly propaganda type stuff you see from all the other similar accounts.
@stevehou@Noahpinion Thatβs fine. But she also then starts to spout all of the Chinese/Russian talking points unrelated to Taiwan unification. Plus her history of trying different schticks to make it as a SM influencer makes her not very believable.
@stevehou@Noahpinion She has done a total 180 on her positions once she started getting attention from all the Chinese bots. She went from pro-US/West, Taiwan independence to the opposite. It's more about her history, and intention. Is she being genuine, or is it a grift?
@Noahpinion She desperately wants a social media career and has tried several angles, with nuclear energy advocate being her most recent attempt. She got a bit of traction doing the anti-US/West, pro-Chinese thing, and now she's all in.
@mason_8718 Yes, tying so much non-military components into the deal is a recipe for disaster. It creates tons of overhead, bureaucracy, potential legal hurdles, etc., resulting in possible, maybe inevitable, delays, legal arbitration, etc. Canada really needs to get its act together.
@Noahpinion I wouldn't jump to that conclusion. The world is moving around more. It could be for affordability, reconnect with family or cultural roots(E.G. lots of Mexicans moving back to Mexico), business/employment opportunities, adventure, etc.
