Even without a tape, the current president administration has full control over all classified (and even NON-classified) official Whitehouse documents.

So when Trump refused to return those documents after more than a year of being ordered to return them by National Archive, that was a felony crime.

Trump even directed his own lawyers to out and out lie on an affidavit to the US Government claiming that he didn't have the documents (which he did).

This is a felony. It just is.

And it doesn't matter how many lies you have chosen to believe about Trump "loving America" (he doesn't), or him helping the economy (he didn't).
