@StevenACohen2 Castellanos is the best pure hitter out there. Castellanos + Marte + Villar + a few solid #2 starting pitchers is all this team needs to be in it through the 1st half. Playoffs are always won at the trade deadline. 1st 81 games is 1 season and next 82 is another.

@StevenACohen2 Referencing Tom Verducci, Citi field is the worst ballpark for hitting over the last 3 years. Positive momentum is huge in sports so it hurts the Mets offense to play 81 games at Citi. Let’s adjust dimensions once more — still haven’t gotten it right.

@StevenACohen2 You were in good position at the trade deadline. You didn’t do enough. Conforto is in a down year. Davis not quite himself physically. Mets needed a slugging corner outfielder in addition to Baez. Needed multiple trades like the Yankees, Padres or Dodgers. It’s over now. 2022

JD Davis is developing/ is on the ascension with a strong 3B prospect pipeline behind him — see CF as greater need than 3B

@PSLToFlushing JD was an excellent 5th hitter protecting Alonso in 2018. Defense started terribly but was above average by the All Star break. Leg kick is timing based which presents challenges in a 60 game season but he’s a budding star, 280, 30 HR, throws 95 mph. There are higher priorities.
