One of the most interesting parts of my convo w/ @demishassabis: He would support a “pause” on AI if he knew all companies + countries would do it — so society and regulation could catch up
Note to self: If you're putting off a task, add it to your todo list, even if it's extremely tiny and trivial (like replying to a message), so you get some satisfaction from completing it.
@LRudL_ Is big model smell a real thing? It's feels a like analyzing abstract modern art imo. I'm not sure if there are real things being tracked or people are just trying to show how sophisticated they are.
@NinaPanickssery If you were aligned with IGF you would want to spread your particular genome right? And on the current margin it would be a very good idea for people to have more children to increase their IGF, even if everyone doing this would decrease the population in the long run.
@NinaPanickssery I think this definition still leaves room for a lot of crucially different interpretations. For example, does moral realism mean that you should be able to physically construct a good-o-meter? I don't think moral realists would have a consensus answer.
@NinaPanickssery I think moral realism does not have a widely agreed definition / shared conception. Nor does morality, which is why I think it's a confused concept. I'm sure there are some versions of moral realism which are a coherent position. How are you defining it?
