@weatherwilly It looks like the models want to split the PV around 3/4. Typically, we see cold in the Eastern US two weeks after the split. Combined with MJO phase 8 in March, could be some wild times.

@judah47 Whether it's stretched or SSW, I sure hope the PV stays weak overall this winter. SSW now could mean a stronger PV later during the Jan-Feb time period. That would put the brakes on winter pretty fast. We wait and watch.

@judah47 I agree more with that outcome. Canadian warming has been producing stretched PV events for a few years now.
