@NoSurrenderPFC @123regHelp Nothing worse than emails not sending or receiving when you don’t know it hasn’t sent or someone had tried to email you... not sure why they aren’t saying it is an issue with email too.. I DM’d them - last time they replied but radio silence this time
@keating_joseph@TomGillEnviro@BradesFarmDairy Broadly speaking (not specifically methane) I worry with all the talk of carbon credits that farmers are going to start to count their chickens that they are sat on some asset that will drive a load of cash flow. We think we still don’t know how this thing is going to go down.
@keating_joseph@TomGillEnviro@BradesFarmDairy the solution in the absence of them rushing to do it otherwise. There are major issues down the line with governance-double accounting, net zero and effective validation a credit is precisely what is supposed to be. I think a lot will come down to government policy.
@TomGillEnviro@keating_joseph@BradesFarmDairy At the present time (most)dairy farmers are not incentivised to purchase just for the sake of their footprint. So there needs to be an incentive, when they wish to pivot to retiring the credits because the business/regularity environment makes that a better choice they can do that
@TomGillEnviro@keating_joseph@BradesFarmDairy Which means you can choose to sell them or retire them. So in the future dairy farmers can choose to retire the credits (for the benefit of their own footprint) or sell them based on the carrot/sticks relevant to their business and they can alter their decision as they wish
Let’s appreciate that evolution has encoded in the DNA of this caterpillar the technique and desire to build itself a little hut inside a leaf to eat hidden from predators.
