Un ejercicio puede ser más específico a nivel individual y aun así ser el más alejado con respecto al juego.
El jugador mejora cuando se relaciona con sus compañeros, no con el trabajo "específico".

Killing the Man-to-Man: How Farioli’s Porto Dismantled City’s Press 🧠⚽
Man-to-man presses hate sequential third-man combinations.
Here is how Francesco Farioli set up Porto in 3 tactical layers to bait City, chain combinations, and attack the space behind:
Pep categorises managers into three different categories. 1) Managers who are good tactically 2) Managers who are good at man-management 3) Managers who are good with the media.
But he says the one characteristic every manager must have is the ability to convince players.
And in the end it’s all about giving players the weapons to express themselves as best they can, to be exactly who they are. There’s nothing more than that.
And when a manager changes shapes and systems, it’s to give the players the comfort they need to win games.
Xabi Alonso is building a team network that allows them to shift between different shapes based on certain references - giving the players different “stimulus” in order to improve their decision making and understanding of their roles
Building that as the foundation is smart, meaning we can focus certain instructions for certain games in the future (e.g. more reserved positioning and rigid base in big games, etc)
De Zerbi's Art of Bending Space and Time
-positional framework instilled
-intended to create repeatable attacks
-same starting positions, but different manipulation of space and time
-players control system
-system primed to manipulate typical player tendencies

Tremenda lección de pizarra y honestidad brutal de Luis Enrique sobre cómo Mbappé condicionaba el bloque defensivo del PSG y cómo tuvo que adaptar el sistema para protegerlo... ¡pero con límites! 📋🔥

We are virtually living in the era of the 4-2-2-2 as we have seen the same IP (in-possession tactic being deployed by Kompany and a different form of it by Pep Guardiola on multiple occasions this season).
Let's understand what Fabregas' philosophy: it's all about CREATIVITY AND FREEDOM, with an emphasis on core principles rather than macro structures.
1. Building from the back
- When building from the back, it's important to engage the goalkeeper, especially during high opposition presses.
- It's always important that if the ball is with the LCB, the right-sided DM has to step back a little to form a triangle consisting of that defender and the pivot, turning into a progressive triangle, which helps to move forward the ball quickly from the centre. Vice versa when the ball is with the RCB.
- The full-backs have to be intelligent, and should have the ability to invert or move wider as per the opposition set-up, and the next point will explain the reason.
2. The attack phase
- Now, how do they get out from a high-press? Depending upon how the opposition presses, whether it's central or wide, the CBs can find outlets out wide to the full-backs (again, intelligence) or direct balls to the 10s, in high opposition presses, will find space. It's one of the two ways to escape the opposition front-line press, which is getting common nowadays.
- Then, if the opposition defenders get pulled out of position by the two 10s, the wingers can be in potential 1v1s with their respective marker, and can beat them or make blind-sided runs out-wide to get at the end of through balls from the midfield or long-balls from the back.
3. Conclusion and final thoughts
- The best thing about this system, we are not compromising on either offense or defense, the central overload creates a block for transitional phases, and the space in the offensive middle, gives the wingers and the 10s ample of space to wreck havoc.
Core principles around the way of playing have been mentioned in the last image. It's important to understand that Fabregas' IP plan is quite flexible while Kompany doesn't have an OOP structure with Bayern. This flexibility while giving freedom to the players is taking football away from the era where the emphasis was on macro-structures and accurate micro-movements, to an era where core principles with freedom and creativity will become the norm.
Mikel Arteta. Enzo Maresca. Vincent Kompany and so many more.
All sat down and drank from the same well of knowledge.
No one makes players better like he does. No one makes managers better. No one will ever do it the way he has.

¡Míster Luis Enrique! 🤬
Pierdes credibilidad y liderazgo ante el grupo si no te atreves a exigirle el máximo a tu mejor jugador.
