It’s like winning the lottery.

Here’s the catch:

Though they aren’t locked into a contract, the discount goes away forever should they ever cancel.

They’ll never be afforded the offer again.

The magic here is that foundation clients stick around virtually forever in most cases.

The cost of losing an enormous discount is simply too high to cancel.

And the benefit to me is that I can rely on them to be there.

CS education is fake.

Most CS grads can't explain web2 architecture - browser policies, cookies, single threaded JS event loop, wasm, etc.

They can't write a simple HTTPS client from scratch which has its own socket layer and SSL handshake.

Churning out leetcode solvers doesn't imply any education in CS
