Thanks to @khmmc and the @LearnerEmpower team for giving me a platform to discuss learner empowerment, identity, and self-efficacy! These factors are essential for creating learner-centered models.
I recently had the chance to chat with @ziegeran and @davidmbeyer about our experience developing a learner-centered pilot program. If you're interested in learner-centered education, check out the podcast and other resources on @TheHumanSchool website!

"As with all of the work involved in bringing learner-centered education to life, there is no distinct endpoint but rather a series of both incremental and radical changes that we create to improve our learners’ educational experiences." - @JoshEcker

Quick clarification: schools aren’t “shutting down” amid Coronavirus spikes. They’re going virtual. Teachers will be working tirelessly to make distance learning happen because a school isn’t about a building. It’s about relationships. Always has. Always will.
What’s the worst typo you’ve made in a professional email? I once invited 100 parents to check out the “International Bachelorette Program.” I had a principal who told parents their kids needed to show up to a “meth intervention.”
As challenging as this year has been, one silver lining is that it's revealing opportunities to innovate in school communities that can accept and embrace change.
