Was able to get out to some of the hardest-hit areas in Newmarket and document some of the more significant wind damage.
Damage is consistent with severe straight-line winds, likely in the 88-101 km/h range locally.
Hope everyone is safe #onwx#onstorm
Seeing a lot of significant straight-line wind damage here in Newmarket.
Radar showed a fairly well-defined bowing segment associated with the storm as it tracked across the area #onwx#onstorm

Well this is certainly a first 😭
This meteorologist stayed on air keeping his composure and continuing coverage while there was a fire in studio. This was at KFSM in Fort Smith, AR.
Captured some upward lightning emanating out of a few of the wind turbines near Rufus, Oregon yesterday evening as the main line of storms drifted into the eastern slopes of the Cascades. #orwx#wawx
After months of work, I’m excited to publicly announce SOMCAS (Southern Ontario Mesoscale Convective Analysis), a tool designed to improve our understanding of severe weather climatology in Ontario 1/ 🧵 #onwx#onstorm https://t.co/yXUH5vk5mI
I will be rolling out an open beta in the coming weeks. If you're interested, I’ll be posting updates here as things progress, along with details regarding the beta application process. Feedback and ideas welcome! 3/ 🧵

Alongside standard HRRR products, SOMCAS includes parameters designed to capture boundary-driven and lake-modified processes, reflecting the well established role of mesoscale boundaries in severe weather environments, as highlighted by Dr. David Sills @westernuNTP 2/ 🧵
An additional Tornado has been confirmed by @westernuNTP from the May 19th storms that impacted SW #Ontario!
An EFO tornado occured in the #Saltford area ( south of #Ingersoll)

This brings the total to 3 tornados!

@ChasinSpin Did your mini weather stations ever become publicly available? I seem to recall a crowdfunding initiative for the project several years ago, but I never learned what ultimately came of it 😅
Storm-following radar loop from KFDR and KFWS of the entire lifecycle of the massive tornadic supercell in TX last night, with one of the wildest reflectivity evolutions I have ever seen
