I knew I needed something to look inside my brain.
It took a crash one day riding & hitting my head to get a scan.
That scan revealed a brain tumor taking over half my brain & changed my life in such a great way.

Sports are one of the best ways to learn this formula, and I get stoked when I see people participating in sports in any season of life. I see so many parallels with sport & business. If you want to perform well, you gotta do the work & part of the work is taking care of self
The secret formula to success in any aspect of life:
-specific intention
-theory & application
-doing the homework
-focus & strategic ignorance
-commitment.
It makes me sad & frustrated for others when I see them looking for shiny / sexy formulas because they lack the discipline & commitment to one focus long enough to see results. I was one of these people.
We can create meaning in anything we expenses in life and what's cool, we choose the meaning. There is no "right" or "wrong" but there is definitely a good feeling choice in the short and long run.
The harsh truth is the world doesn't care about what we think or feel we deserve. We must find it in ourselves to become grateful for the ability to pursue our best lives and become inspired to act congruently. Other's don't wake up nor have the ability to pursue their best life.
If we can't find a reason to be grateful within their circumstances, how can we expect more to come our way? Key word is "expect" and I see this kind of entitlement in all sorts of areas. I have been there and I get it, but it doens't do us any good.
If I’m drowning, I’m in survival mode and my brain won’t allow me to effectively think about helping others because I’m in immediate danger. This is how stress works.
The concept “1 % better” is a cool start but lacks specificity. I like to add layers to it:
- specificity, in which direction do I want to become 1% better?
- is it aligned with my focus & priorities?
- what action(s) will make me 1% better and in which way(s)?
On today's podcast, @JoshPerryBMX shares his experience of being diagnosed with brain tumors known as #meningiomas, the surgeries that he has undergone to treat them, and how he moves forward by talking about his experience with others. https://t.co/k8o9ptz9w1

We are programmed based on the stories our mind makes up, thanks to our left brain known as the “interpreter” of our subjective reality. Most of us never question these stories yet we let them control our lives.
If you’re feelings are not based on empirical reality, you may want to audit the story fueling your feelings and what payoff you get from gripping onto that story.
A belief is a subjective interpretation of observations created by the left brain and only exists in the mind when thinking about it. An identity is nothing more than a pattern of events and experiences in space spread over time.
