@japan_nobunaga It's 4th of July weekend. I just bought a few new guns. Now it's time for beers, then rodeo. Tomorrow is my favorite holiday, gonna have a tasty breakfast, go shooting, watch a parade and go to a barbecue party. So I'm quite happy.
@japan_nobunaga The US is a federal republic, designed to give a high degree of autonomy to each state, it works better in geographically large countries due to different local needs and cultures. Yes it is complicated & confusing; you just learn to deal with it.
@japan_nobunaga Long history of European nobility having a practical monopoly on arms, forming a republic rejected that notion. Additionally then and today many people live outside of the effective range to get assistance from the state in an emergency. Also too late to get rid of them in US
@tanpukunokami Probably about 10. We caught a raccoon in our barn. My dad had me terminate the animal then clean it up. Bit of a farm chore thing. Picked up target shooting later on. Always thought they were mechanically interesting.
@japan_nobunaga In the US, the question of if guns will be present is settled and it's rather moot to debate restrictions at this point. Since guns exsist in circulation it makes sense for me to have them and be trained in their use, thus I feel and likely am safer with one present.
