Just a spot of shameless self-promotion here.

@TheAtlantic Because there are these things called professional cameras and lighting that come with highly skilled and talented people operating them.
It's worth the time and money for those who can appreciate art over snapshots.
This is Conrad Heyer. I have cleaned & enhanced his historically significant portrait, as he is verified as the earliest-born human ever to have been photographed. He was born 275 years ago (back in 1749) a mere 83 years after London was consumed by the Great Fire. It boggles my mind that he could potentially have met people who experienced it. Conrad was photographed here in 1852, at the age of 103.
There have been other contenders for the title of earliest-born human to be photographed, but their claims are all based on hearsay & oral records, not on verifieable paperwork.
@MrEwanMorrison Hmm... If the goal is to stimulate, engage, inspire critical thinking, and elevate one's perspective, commercial artists frequently achieve these objectives in their daily work. Can we not consider them both artists and professional entertainers?

This is from the series: #Bodies of #Water.
I covered the studio in plastic sheeting, placed a kiddie-pool in the center with a hot water hose hung from the ceiling over it, & center-facing strobes in each corner. A cold studio in winter created the steam. #TucsonPhotographer
