The theology of voting 🔽
Christians have been deceived and manipulated on this issue for decades. You need to understand what your vote IS... and what it IS NOT.
Step 1. Make sure you're on the right "team."
@sesamestreet Guys, there is no universe in which it makes sense to message to children about sexual desires, regardless of worldview.
Stop and think about what you’re doing.
Bro, you have lost the plot.
There is nothing Christian about twisting scripture to justify ab*rtion & sexual immorality. There’s nothing Christian about desecrating the name of the living God in a naked attempt to push gender ideology.
I’ve largely ignored David’s horrible takes. But gotta block this guy. He has no discernment.
Christians have been tricked into advancing left-leaning values, says @joe_rigney, and they are falling into the trap of progressive pressure.
"Christians... operate with a little progressive on their shoulder, policing and evaluating their actions."
You're going to see Jesus selectively-edited for political purposes like this a lot in the coming days. Few things to remember...
1. Jesus never broke immigration laws
2. Jesus did not “immigrate”: He left Nazareth (in the Roman Empire) to go to Egypt (also in the Roman Empire)
3. When they traveled, his family *legally registered* themselves (Luke 2:1-5)
4. Jesus commanded obedience to laws (Rom 13:1), and commanded governments to enforce their laws (Romans 13:3-4)
5. People like to selectively-edit Jesus to turn him into a mascot for their cause. You can equally say things like...
- “Jesus was a part of the majority culture in his region"
- "Jesus came from a patriarchal traditional family"
- "Jesus was unvaccinated"
- "Jesus fed the poor without raising taxes"
- "Jesus told people to buy weapons", etc
Jesus is a Lord, not a mascot.
6. Yes, individual Christians ARE commanded to love all people, including immigrants, and that cannot be disregarded. No, the Biblical command to "love the foreigner among you" does not mean it is wrong for a nation to enforce its immigration laws.
It's sad when people troll & quickly offer awful takes on here. Especially when they're Christians.
But if you're surprised & triggered... that's on you.
Instead, resolve to use this platform to be life-giving — and then let the miserable be miserable.
