To be continued! 🚗
Tesla FSD in Europe
The European Transport Safety Council (ETSC) are trying to stop FSD from getting wide approval in Europe.
They have been critical of FSD for some time. ETSC have written to the EU Commission urging it to pause the process while a number of "urgent questions" are answered and the desirability of allowing such systems is discussed publicly.
Meanwhile there are several question marks about ETSC and their conflict of interest. ETSC are partly financed by Toyota and Bosch, two companies that competes with Tesla in several ways.
Tesla expanded Robotaxi services today to two new cities, Dallas and Houston, Texas, both of which started unsupervised.
I'd like to put this into context by comparing it to Waymo, which for now has the largest Robotaxi fleet and city availability.
— Time to paid unsupervised rides:
Tesla ~7 months (June 2025 to Jan 22, 2026)
Waymo ~4 years (2016-2020)
— Time from 1st unsupervised city to 3rd:
Tesla ≈3 months (Jan 22, 2026 to April 18, 2026)
Waymo ≈4 years (2020-2024)
People will say Tesla isn’t scaling fast enough, but look at the timelines—they’ve scaled faster than the most scaled company when it started, and I think this will only accelerate.
Finally. After 18 months of patience, FSD is officially approved and live in the Netherlands.
I’ve been driving with it for 2 days now.
And the experience is on another level.
It feels like the future unfolding in real time.
The precision.
The intelligence.
The confidence of the system.
This is not incremental progress.
This is a clear step forward in how mobility works.
Huge thanks to Elon Musk and the entire AI team at Tesla.
From a professional perspective, this shows what is possible when software, data, and real-world deployment come together at scale.
The question is no longer if this will take over.
The question is how fast it will expand.
This is a turning point.

I am proud to announce that I have successfully completed the world’s first USA coast to coast fully autonomous drive!
I left the Tesla Diner in Los Angeles 2 days & 20 hours ago, and now have ended in Myrtle Beach, SC (2,732.4 miles)
This was accomplished with Tesla FSD V14.2 with absolutely 0 disengagements of any kind even for all parking including at Tesla Superchargers.
My road trip started on October 28th & took me all around this great nation for a whopping 14,169 miles total & now just concluded making it home in time for Christmas back in Tacoma, WA.
The FSD true 100% streak still continues with it now up to 6,550.7 miles. Still shooting to break 10k before end of year.
Continue to peep @fsd_database for the latest updates
Merry Christmas everyone!

Remember all those who claimed that BEVs wouldn't work in emerging markets and wouldn't sell either?
In emerging markets where electricity is produced domestically, often from hydropower and increasingly from solar and wind energy, the economic viability of a BEV compared to a combustion engine is rapidly reversing, as it is an economic given.
Here are just a few examples:
🇪🇹 Ethiopia has an electricity grid that is predominantly powered by hydropower. In order to reduce oil imports, the country banned the import of combustion engines in 2024, and electric vehicles achieved a market share of 60% that year.
🇳🇵 Nepal took a similar path. After lowering import duties to reduce oil dependency, electric vehicles achieved a remarkable 76% share of new car sales in 2024.
🇻🇳 In Vietnam, nearly 40% of new car sales this year were electric vehicles, almost all of them BEVs from local manufacturer VinFast.
BEVs are perfectly suited to emerging markets, as electricity there is typically generated locally, eliminating a large portion of the logistics costs associated with fossil fuels. Once renewable energy sources such as solar power are installed over time, energy costs tend toward zero.
It was a foolish and brainless claim, especially from legacy auto CEOs, that BEVs would not sell in emerging markets.
FSD Supervised in Europe! @Tesla_Calle and myself have just experienced one of the first testdrives in Europe. Location: Düsseldorf, Germany. Amazingly smooth and safe drive in one of the busiest areas. We are so very impressed. Europe needs FSD Supervised asap!
I’m gobsmacked! FSD 14.2.1 just did my test drive in horrible blizzard and unplowed road conditions with zero interventions. So glad I got it on camera. Awesome job @Tesla and @aelluswamy and team!
