Do not ever let telecom companies bully you into paying "connection fees." I just spent over an hour on the phone with @TELUS fighting these exact bogus charges, and won.
We brought 4 family members over to my line to save money, and they tried hitting me with a $240 bill just for connecting us. I brought them business, and we all know it doesn't cost them a dime to flip a switch on an account.
Here is the exact runaround they gave me (and exactly how to beat it if you're in the same boat):
📞 The rep told me the "absolute best" they could do was 50% off the fees.
📞 I called their bluff: "If you can adjust it 50%, you have the power to adjust it 100%. Take it off entirely."
📞 Put on hold. Rep comes back: "Okay, one-time final offer, 75% off."
📞 Me: "No thank you. Put a manager on the line so I can get 100% taken off. This is a bogus charge."
📞 Put on hold again. Same rep comes back 5 minutes later, and suddenly, magically, 100% off is possible after all.
The screw-around is unbelievable. It honestly sounded like an outsourced call center just trying to squeeze out a little extra commission on a made-up charge.
Don't back down when they try this. Call their bluff, ask for a manager, and refuse to pay those fees!

Yeah that's the point everything is right there. You got your bowl of food, water, and a wheel to keep you entertained!
Humans are meant to be free and go where they wish. However, if a group of humans, let's say the government, want to keep track of another group of humans. Well it's much easier if they are all in the same place.
For example, on my 80 acres I have chickens. They are all in 1 chicken coup. I don't want to let them roam everywhere or set up another coup because that's more work for me. Easier if I keep them all in one place . Especially when it's time to harvest! 🥚🍳🐔🍗
