A bunch of people who’ve spent their whole careers dismissing women’s sports are now riding right wing hysteria to claim that they just want the best for women’s sports. Comical.
Royce White is a known woman abuser where he was just given a 50 year stay away order for his ex wife and two year from his stepson because of multiple finding of abuse by a judge.
Right now there are zero D1 trans athletes in Womens College Basketball, zero in the WNBA and 7 over all in D1 sports. You could not name one of them. There are 9 trans athletes in women’s high school sports. Most individual, very few team. You could not name any. But go ahead and google and look for an arrest record on any. I did. You will find none.
What I just said are facts. Conservatives love to say facts don’t care about your feelings.
So maybe if you truly care about women and kids don’t praise and listen to a guy who beats women and kids.
I feel bad for WNBA players. The league is the best it's ever been. Last year people threw dildos on the court. Now the story is Enes Kanter. There isn't a single trans player in the WNBA. The protect women's sports crowd loves to do everything but respect women's sports.
I’ve been trying to not make this a huge long post but eff it I’m passion about this topic so you guys are gonna get all of it 😂
We have this weird desire in mma to glorify the grind and hard work. How many quotes have you heard about “being the hardest worker in the room”, my wrestling coach even breaks practice down with hard work.
I could give you 50 different anecdotes about how this is all bullshit but I’ll start with my own experience. I came into fighting as a hobby and was working at the same time, I lifted and trained the exact same way I did as a football player.
I was immediately labeled a prospect because my size, power and explosiveness. 5 amateur fights just blowing guys out of the water.
I turned pro, started making every practice, joined the fighters lifting group, training twice a day 5 days a week and a bonus session on Saturdays, i slowly burn everything special about myself out. Look up My tapology, my pro career starts of so lame because I have nothing left for the actual fights.
I start training with Alistair Overeem who’s 44 years old and in the top 5 of the UFC. He tells me he trains once a day and takes Thursdays off so he can kick ass at sparring on Fridays. Mentally I cope and make up excuses about him being “talented” or “gifted” or whatever.
I get in TUF and just through the process of filming and not cutting weight I’m well rested and just smoke these guys. Go back to my team and decide I’m gonna work 10x as hard to win the finals and we saw the result. I tell myself I wasn’t working hard enough so start cutting weight again and work my ass off to have a garbage ufc career and get cut.
Now I’m out of the ufc and back to doing my own thing again, not paying extra money for personal training, not cutting weight, and I’m honestly the best I’ve ever been.
Being fresh and healthy is infinitely more important then winning some made up hard work competition, the honest truth is I would prefer to win my fights with the least amount of work. Understanding this is part of what makes volk so damn good.
Hooping yesterday and one of my young bouls was arguing with a guy who played college and overseas about where he needed to be on the court. I pulled the youngboul to the side and straight up said "when a nigga better than you and been everywhere you wanna be you gotta just shut the fuck up and listen". I feel like we need to keep this in mind in life sometimes
Stop dressing up disdain for young black ppl as some type of warped sense of concern and care. Yall just have very low opinions of young black ppl. And that’s the discussion we really need to have.
J.R. Smith says he regrets wasting $60,000 in strip clubs when he could've helped his community
“I got Paul George sitting right here. I got DeMar DeRozan right here. I got Russell Westbrook sitting right here. I'm literally sitting next to all of these dudes who are LA guys”
“I'm like, ‘Bro, I'm not counting your chips, but everybody else is. You make $200 million, you make $200 million, you make $175 million, you make $150 million, you make $180 million. Why don't y'all have your own gym? Why we got to go to UCLA to work out in LA every time?”
“Y'all come from the exact same community. You want to inspire kids that look like you. All it takes is five of us. What bank gonna turn us down. We 'bout to build this whole thing out for our community. We're gonna build gyms, rec centers, start leagues and all that. Who's gonna stop us. We got the money. We don't have the mindset”
“Our mindset, we'd rather go throw $60,000 in the club, in the strip club, than go feed 2,500 people in the hood. Think about it. I've done it. I can't sit here and be like, ‘Oh man, I'm a hypocrite.’ I've done this myself. I've thrown money in the club, literally blindly, aimlessly, drunk. And now I sit back, ‘I'm a stupid ass.’ I could have fed my whole community 10 times over with the money I was just late on the bus”
“Because I'm so wrapped into me. I got that Eurocentric mindset. I need this designer jacket. I need these jeans. I need this book bag. I need to be looking like this because the vets got this thing, I'm pushing this car, I'm doing... Why? Who am I impressing. I'm not even fulfilled with me”
Guys like Myles garret, maxx Crosby, Aaron Donald be telling y’all Lamar can’t be fucked with, but y’all let a mf named “Colin” brainwash you into thinking he’s not a good QB, ask yourself which source is more credible then get back to me.
We’re obsessed with the idea that poor people might take more than they need, but we almost never question why billionaires are never satisfied with what they already have.
Europe spent 400 years using slave labour in colonies to build its wealth, rebranded this extraction model in the 20th century and somehow its citizens still believe their social conditions are a result of some superior intellect rather than inhuman violence.
They will Tell you that Africa, Haiti, and all these dark nations are shithole countries but they will never tell you that they killed anyone who tried to fix it.
Ton of respect for all the ppl in positions of authority -coaches, parents, teachers, supervisors etc- who have this philosophy of seeking out, valuing, and implementing the input of those who they are leading. So many authority figures believe that their position of power means that they’re the ones who should always have all the answers and that’s never ever the case.
I can just visualize Jaylen Brown in a room of people talking to down to him like he’s an idiot. Him politely correcting them and them getting offended by it. I’ve seen it happen far too many times.
