I don’t need them anymore and it can help you land your dream job.

They are what I used during my SRD.

I have given the same playbook to many mentees who used them to land their dream jobs in various companies.

Now, just look at these beautiful church buildings.

So many are boarded up, closed down, with developers queueing up to profit from converting them into flats.

I simply can't accept that a building built to glorify Jesus for generations can be turned into something solely for profit.

So I've placed an offer on a church in my hometown.

My plan is to buy it and offer it completely free of charge, with zero rent, to a church willing to worship Jesus here and serve others.

Eleven years ago, suicide felt like my only escape. I had 2 extra years, was drowning in debt and gambling addiction, my girlfriend and friends had left, and family had distanced themselves.

Then I listened to a Myles Munroe tape that transformed my life. He said, “Never apply a permanent solution to a temporary problem.” He also said, “Life is a fight for territory. Whatever you want, your finances, relationships, career, or health, you must fight for it. Keep fighting until you get it right.”

No matter what you’re facing, it’s temporary. Don’t take your life, no matter how bad it seems. Keep fighting consciously, work on yourself, and prepare for opportunities that will break the chains of mediocrity.

Let's start by looking at it through the lens of farming.

You want to get into the business, but you don’t have the time to farm, study the weather, or decide what crops to plant. You also don’t own enough land to get started.

So what do you do?

I’m bored, so let’s do a mini deep dive on the psychology of premium marketing.

Whenever you sell a product, you’re telling a story. And the story of that product must match the story that the user is telling themselves in their head.

So, think of any expensive, luxury product, it’s because of the story behind it.

Let’s use 2 examples:

1. iPhones - Why is there such a cult following around iPhones and Apple products in general?

It’s because for most people, it communicates a sort or status, a feeling of “I’m important”.

It’s the same thing with Macs. If you are a creative, you want to use a Mac because in many cases, it resembles the pinnacle of “creativity”

2. Luxury cars - When you buy a super fast sports car, you and I know that you’re never going to go at the max speed…but it’s the story that we want to tell ourselves… “I’m a speed freak”. Same thing with a Benz. The story is “I can afford to use something that the vast majority of Nigerians cannot”

So, how do we bring it to luxury goods??

People buying luxury goods do so for 2 main reasons:

1. It is inaccessible to a large proportion of the public
2. It denotes quality and time spent crafting the piece to ensure no mistakes.

Both of which this has her marketing has failed at.

Let me be clear, I’m not saying that her products are inferior quality. They probably aren’t.

The issue is that she hasn’t put in the work to make it look premium.

So, how would she have redeemed this to justify the premium price??

Just take a look at what @Tunde_OD did with his chess pieces yesterday.

Apart from the design, see how meticulously crafted the set was?

From premium packaging, to the signature on the box, to the note, to the video… Everything on that product screams elegance.

So much so that no single person could say “But there’s a chess set for 100k na”

Because at that price point, you’re not paying for a chess set. You’re paying for an experience.

The problem, is that you want to charge the price for that experience, without providing it. And that’s why you’re getting “dragged”

You’re trying to cheat the process

If you had taken these same sandals, built a beautiful box around it, done a cinematic video with lights, an inspiring voiceover and lively background music, the reaction would be different.

Why?

Because you have invested time and money into creating an experience, and that experience would be worth paying for.

But just taking a random phone picture and putting it online - no story, no crafted experience… just vibes?

It doesn’t work that way.

One thing I’ve learned recently is that you don’t need anyone’s permission to reinvent yourself.

You can wake up one day and just do something. You can have 10+ years of experience as a lawyer, and still decide tomorrow that you want to build a successful lipgloss brand, and actually do it.
