@boys_nicholas Given its immediate context, doing anything other than rebuilding it would be a complete disgrace. Itβs one of the most beautiful parts of central Glasgow:
100% new. A gift to London. Just unwrapped.
(Note how the windows are elegantly part O compliant, a luxury increasingly impossible for buildings in non-high value areas)
Strange bunch? You mean, as polls consistently suggest, the majority of the population? I donβt necessarily advocate for strict historicism, but decorative ornament, symmetry, fractals and natural materials play an essential psychological role in architecture. Modernism rejected these things in favour of cold geometrical abstractions and grids, itβs an ideologically-driven approach to architecture which I hate entirely.
@othlooney It feels no unsafer than London or any other big European city. Some parts of the city feel more dodgy (the banlieues famously) but central Paris always feels very safe to me!
