”デヴィッド・キーリー・シアター“で、ノーラン監督の「オデッセイア(全編IMAX®フィルムカメラ撮影)」を“70mm”フィルムIMAX® 上映で観た。いや、スクリーンを”観た“というより、ずっとそこに”いた“! 、“目撃した！ ”という感覚。この衝撃は、小学生の時、初めて“大阪OS劇場”の“シネラマ”上映を観た時に近い。当時、ブラウン管に観慣れていた体験とは、まるで違う臨場感だった。あの時の感慨を思い出した。日本語字幕がなかったのも、良かったのかもしれない。お話の構造は、子どもの頃から、カーク・ダグラス版(1954)やいくつかの白黒版を観て育ったので、理解していたのだが、これはまた違う体感だった。僕にとっての、まさに観たことのない未体験”“オデッセイア（Odyssey）“だった。”アスペクト比1.43:1 “という巨大なスクリーン・レイアウトであるにも関わらず、俳優たちの表情に何処までも近づき、浅い“被写界深度”で、彼らの感情を深く捉え、“プルフォーカス”で細部に切り替え、彼らの苦悩と運命を執拗に追い続ける、ノーランとホイテマの絵創り。その解像度に耐え得る豪華俳優たちの迫真の演技。本作においても、タイムライン上を緻密に時間を交差する、ノーラン節も健在。それらが誰もが知る“古典叙事詩”を等身大の人間ドラマに昇華していたと言える。素晴らしかった。９月の日本公開時には、デジタルIMAX® になるが、もう何回か観に“帰還”するだろう。

@facsimilitude Which I've always been a fan of. But it often feels like people try to devalue the existence of ports that attempt this either because emulation is in some way more accurate or the original is so superior in another.

Nobody wants ports. People say they want ports but they actually want to complain about how they don't have ports and when they do get them complain about how the port is bad.

1:1 Port? Lazy
Remaster? Not the same experience
Remake? Too different from the original
