@AlbertBreer Close friend lives in Tuscany, pasta, bread, pastries, gelato everyday. She works out 3-4 times a week for 30 min, nothing too crazy, stays in great shape. Whenever she visits here legitimately gains 5-7 lbs if she’s here longer than 2 weeks and that assumes similar food!
There are people you haven’t met yet who are going to become incredibly important to you.
Think about that.
Your future favorite memories haven’t happened yet.
There are places you’ll love that you’ve never been.
Songs you’ll play a thousand times that you haven’t heard yet.
Restaurants you’ll become a regular at.
Inside jokes that don’t exist yet.
Trips you haven’t planned.
Things your kids will say that you’ll remember forever.
People who will walk into your life and somehow feel like they’ve always been there.
We spend a lot of time looking backward at the good things that have already happened.
But there is so much life you haven’t lived yet.
That’s a pretty great reason to be excited about tomorrow.
stop buying avocado oil chips
this study found that 93% of them were cut with cheaper oils like seed oils
boulder canyon, siete and jacksons all failed the authenticity test.
@BananaRepublic been wearing your clothing since 1987, wool pants and merino sweaters been my go to for latter part of 20 years. This is not meant for discourse just one lifelong devotee sharing feedback….You used to differentiate because quality of materials was second to none and price point was always consistent. Seems like materials are poorer quality now with increased prices, other brands now are offering better values at better prices. Your sweet spot and what I always loved was quality of materials and value relative to cost, along with simplicity and elegance. I am not jumping ship but a bit disconcerted and hope you get back to your core excellence.
@RichyrichX20 Everything is generic now, they used to have great fabrics and good staple stuff now cheap materials and nothing awe inspiring at price point
A group funded by soda companies is relentlessly arguing that we can’t afford to serve healthy food to children in schools.
They are arguing because of “affordability” concerns, we must continue serving kids Doritos, doughnuts, and low-quality chicken nuggets every day.
Every American should be outraged by this argument.
We never had a funding problem with school lunches or military food. We have a corruption problem where Big Food saw the military and schools as piggy banks for junk food (as they openly and brazenly described on earnings calls)
Soldiers get a meal card for $39 a day for food. Through political will and busting through bureaucracy, the Army is now able to serve fresh salmon, roasted tomatoes, watermelon, and rice for $11.45 - all while making the vendor (in this case Compass) money.
When it comes to schools, the United States currently spends more per student on lunch than almost any developed country in the world. Japan spends 40% less per student on school food and the country barely grows food - yet the comparisons between what they serve children and we do in schools should make every American embarrassed.
Thank God we finally have an admin the has channeled the concerns of moms and is taking on the ridiculous argument that have enough money to not poison our children and soldiers will be dismissed out of hand. We just didn’t have political courage before.
Breaking new study: Processed no-calorie sweeteners found in Diet Coke, Gatorade Zero, Halo Top, and Extra Gum linked to a faster decline in memory and thinking skills.
@continentaltire Can someone reach out to me, I have a tire issue which needs to be discussed and would like to try and resolve. I can provide cell and pictures of tire defect, am lucky to still be alive. Thanks!
Do not eat these. Discard immediately if you recognize any of these in yours or a loved one’s kitchen, it’s the easiest act of love you can do for them today.
A French study in PLOS Medicine examined the impact of emulsifiers (food additives used to improve texture and extend shelf life) on cancer risk.
Researchers analyzed data from 92,000 adults over nearly 7 years and found that certain emulsifiers significantly increased cancer risk:
Mono & diglycerides of fatty acids (E471)—found in processed baked goods, margarine, and ice cream—were linked to:
15% higher risk of overall cancer
24% higher risk of breast cancer
46% higher risk of prostate cancer
Carrageenan (E407 & E407a)—a thickening agent in dairy alternatives, deli meats, and plant-based products—was linked to:
32% higher risk of breast cancer.
Cancer is complex and multifactorial, but one thing is certain: the food we eat plays a massive role in shaping our long-term health. Cutting out ultra-processed foods and focusing on whole, nutrient-dense foods is one of the most powerful steps you can take to reduce disease risk.
Thank you to my friend Vani Hari for this image + bringing awareness to this critical issue.
