Walk past a building where somebody invented something, or wrote something, or changed something, roughly every four minutes, whether you notice or not.

Realize your commute is also a people-watching seminar, a smell-based cultural exchange program, and free comedy.

Order the good pizza at 1am standing up, off a paper plate, next to a guy in a tux and a guy who clearly just got off a double shift, both getting the same slice with the same reverence.

Pay too much for too little space and get, in exchange, eleven million other people's worth of energy pointed directly at your life every single day.

Move to Iowa. Get the four bedrooms, the garage, the yard. Never again have a 3am conversation with a stranger that changes how you think about something. you can now transfer easily Amtrak/NJT -> LIRR and MetroNorth -> LIRR with ease. The only missing connection is Amtrak/NJT -> MetroNorth, which is unlikely to have a full solution.

@Mbakaza4L I own a car and park in Manhattan. I WANT THIS! Zoned permit parking is NEEDED, then I can finally stop paying for an expensive monthly garage and actually use the street parking in front of my apartment! Look at Montreal, they have it figured out!

@jackodess @Viggie_Smalls93 There’s good Mexican, but it’s definitely rare. We just honestly don’t have a ton of Mexican immigrants in NYC. Los Tacos No 1 and Mariscos El Submarino are pretty good, but as a Floridian that moved here, my Mexican food experience is pretty limited!

@Colin_d_m how is this any better than a bus? One cross town train line would make more sense. The express buses serve this area well though and make it across very quickly. Keeping the buses in bus lanes and out of traffic basically fixes these issues.
