@Lexaphus I have a poem where I use the word "Shiksa," but it's not meant to be neutral or cute--it's meant to dramatize my ignorance--I wonder if this word is beyond reclamation or engagement? I.e. is it possible to use a word like "Shiksa" as a kind of commentary on itself, or verboten?
Mansplanation on my way back from the polls.
White affluent male neighbor: "We will all survive no matter what happens."
Me: "Yes, you and I will survive. But no, we will not all survive."
They got inflation down to 2%, unemployment at 4%, the average price of gas down to $3.10 a gallon and are still gonna lose.
Policy and Fundamentals don't matter if the way that people access information is fundamentally broken. These echo chambers are impenetrable.
Every year people use long lines to talk about the pride they have in American democracy. But it’s fundamentally anti-democratic to have such bad electoral infrastructure that people have to wait six hours to vote. It’s literally voter suppression.
The abortion rights measure in Florida 'lost' with 57% of the vote and 1.5 million more votes than the opposition.
And for what it's worth: Amendment 4 got a million more votes than Ron DeSantis did in 2022
The day before the election, a bipartisan coalition of 51 attorneys general puts out a statement calling for a “peaceful transfer of power” + condemning “any acts of violence.”
Notably absent: Texas AG Ken Paxton, along with AGs in Indiana and Montana.

🚨 anyone voting on election day should have this info ready in case you run into a problem. the best thing you can do is call the national election protection hotline. these are the experts.
Really irks me when people talk about the “fertility crisis”. Humanity is on track to add 1.5 billion more humans to the global population in just the next 25 years. It’s only a crisis if you’re afraid of brown people.
Trump on Liz Cheney: "Let's put her with a rifle standing there with 9 barrels shooting at her. Let's see how she feels about it. You know, when the guns are trained on her face."
this is interesting. 90 houston public schools are voting locations on election day. and it seems at only 1 did parents convince administrators to move the poll somewhere else because they're concerned about student safety. river oaks elementary school.

As I collected this poem from news stories, I was thinking about erasure and collage as speculative arts.
What if we could excavate a better future from the failures of language and community we have today?
Please read with care.

If Harris wins--which I think she's going to--and Democrats win the house--which I think they are going to--and the Senate--which is possible with Osborn--then lets take this trifecta and make sure no one is ever as powerful as Jeff Bezos or Elon Musk again, not in a democracy.
He literally banned an entire religious group, separated families, and committed a coup. He's now campaigning on having detention camps. The argument from fools like Musk is that he's not Hitler in 1942. Meaning Hitler in 1932 is also not Hitler.
I'm not sure people are grasping the full implication of what he's saying here: that to avoid family separation in mass deportation, Trump would also remove millions of US citizen children-a prospect that takes his deportation plan much deeper into the realm of ethnic cleansing
