Very little fuss from the media when the Conservatives and Liberal Democrat coalition cut the Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) entirely, excluding many of the poorest teenagers from higher education. I see the double standards.
Oxford and Cambridge universities should only be allowed to enter one team each in University Challenge rather than a team for every single fucking college they've got
'Had this been a private development on Bayswater Road... I'm sure they'd have been put in the Savoy or the Hilton within a few hours of the fire.'
@jeremycorbyn says the Grenfell disaster was 'contempt for the poorest, most vulnerable people' in London.
MPs on both sides of the House of Commons leave before the PM statement on the Grenfell Inquiry findings:
They didn’t care before the fire.
They don’t care after the fire.
Each MP who left should be made to face the Grenfell survivors in person.
“Surge pricing” is ticketmaster behaving no better than the touts they say they are protecting us from.
Exploiting supply and demand to charge well well above face value.
Politicians are lobbied by ticket companies, it's why you'll often see them at big gigs/sports events.
The biggest "legal" seller of tickets was able to act as a tout today, with total immunity from the law.
It's not free market capitalism, it's touting, protected.
Ticket companies know what they are doing. The "buzz" of getting into the buy phase after 4 hrs is the same dopamine hit gamblers experience.
At that stage, £150 to £400 price rise no longer is a choice, it's an impulse buy.
An unethical/should be illegal business practice.
How can you put ‘face value’ standing tickets up from £150 to £355 due to being in demand. You are the biggest scum bag touts that there are. Diabolical. #Ticketmaster
That feeling when you wait in a queue for four hours only to be told the price of the ticket has risen from £148 to... £355??? Because they're 'in demand'. How is this not illegal?
