@warrie2021 I was really hoping they would change this in the show, this single moment is character assassination for Eve. She stops being a hero in a single comic panel.
@PamelaBies Exactly. Christ forgives your sins, if you repent, but he doesn’t undo your sins. You still did them, they still happened, and there are still consequences.
@pedroauuvs I recently replayed re7 for the first time in a few years and loved it so much more than I remembered. Even the ship section, which I used to hate, I grew to really enjoy. RE7 is a great game front to back.
He isn’t wrong exactly, anime isn’t a fundamental part of American culture.
Where Matt is going wrong is that he’s failing to recognize the relationship between American culture and anime/Japanese culture and reasons behind that relationship.
So is anime a fundamental part of American culture?
No.
But America has a unique and significant relationship with anime and Japanese culture that can’t be ignored and shouldn’t be looked down upon.
The purpose of a system is what it was created to do.
Any system can be corrupted to where its original purpose is no longer being fulfilled.
This perversion of the system does not define it because it is not a part of it.
Just like a parasite doesn’t define the host, the corruption doesn’t define the system.
You see a fallen creation and are righteous in your anger toward it, but your anger and bitterness does not make you right.
Everything in this world was created with a purpose and everything in this world is corrupted by sin.
Existence isn’t defined by the evil that is within it.
Existence is defined and purposed by its creator.
You may not want a life with redemption, yet all still need redemption.
We cannot defeat the evil that has infested this world by dwelling within it and taking it upon ourselves.
Evil only ever begets evil.
You misunderstand and misrepresent Christianity at every turn, and I pray God would open your eyes to your foolishness.
You can choose to write this off as more Christian nonsense.
You can choose to misunderstand what I’ve said.
You can choose hate, bitterness, and evil.
Or you can choose Christ.
Only one of these leads to a world where all is made right.
