🏆 Number of domestic champions that will play league phase football after the introduction of the Champions Path in 🟠 UEL PO:

🔵 UCL = 15 or 16*
🟠 UEL = 11
🟢 UECL = 11

*in case of title-holder rebalancing (happens almost every year)

The overall number of champions in league phases remained the same (37 or 38).

But before the change it was possible that all 12 champions participating in 🟠 UEL PO are eliminated and transferred to 🟢 UECL league phase, leading to the following distribution of champions:

🔵 UCL = 15 or 16*
🟠 UEL = 5
🟢 UECL = 17

That would be the case where you have more champions in the Conference than in the Champions League! 😅

Or if all 12 champions win in UEL PO leading to:

🔵 UCL = 15 or 16*
🟠 UEL = 17
🟢 UECL = 5

After the change it's guaranteed that 6 champions will survive 🟠 UEL PO, and 6 will be transferred to 🟢 UECL LP, where they will be joined by 5 champions coming from 🟢 UECL PO Champions Path.

So the overall number of champions is now fixed per competition.
