Cambridge. January 1, 2019. It’s how it all started for me on Team Warren. Forever grateful to EW for giving me the opportunity to be her “top dog”. Dream big, fight hard. Always.
He texted me shortly after hurricane Fiona to say he was thinking of us and our well-being. That was the John I knew. Always looking out for others.
Gone way too soon Mr. Walsh.
@JohnEWalsh14 impacted many lives in #mapoli. He listened, he truly cared, and he worked from the heart. He kept asking when I would run for higher office. He would always say “you would be so great”. That’s who John was. A true cheerleader for many, especially women.
When I told John I was moving to Puerto Rico, he was so excited for us. He told me it was a huge loss for Massachusetts, but that he was happy I was going home. We talked about him letting me know when he could take a vacation to Puerto Rico, but that didn’t happen.
I can’t believe it has been 4 years since this interview by Puerto Rico press. Gracias Laura Rexach Olivencia por captar mi voz tan auténticamente. Still miss Team Warren and @ewarren. 🗽
And I can’t believe I have now lived here more than a year. 🇵🇷 https://t.co/F7M3bec7Dq
So great to catch up with an old friend over some #mapoli brunch.. and in Puerto Rico 🙌🏼
Planning to travel to PR?? Jossie and Aventuras Yuiza no doubt will bring you to the best spots in town.. we practically met President Obama ! 👀
The Supreme Court is on a fucking roll. Affirmative action, debt forgiveness, queer rights.
Me cago en la madre de estos cabrones conservadores que nos quieren desaparecer.
We had a great Town Hall in Holyoke today. We talked about canceling student debt, making sure everyone can get the health care they need (including mental health services and reproductive care), and pushing back against hate to protect LGBTQ+ rights.
“Cisgender” is not a slur. It is a term used used in scientific, legal, medical, and everyday contexts.
The attempt to make “cis” a slur is a blatant attempt to erase trans identities from a supposed “free speech absolutist.”
Trans people exist. Cis people exist.
Now can we talk about the thousands that constantly flee their homelands due to many reasons (much more significant than a $250,000 thrill-seeking tour) and are left to perish in their journeys by governments? Pretty clear that some lives matter much more than others.
It’s Juneteenth AND reparations.
It’s Juneteenth AND end police violence + the War on Drugs.
It’s Juneteenth AND end housing + education apartheid.
It’s Juneteenth AND teach the truth about white supremacy in our country.
Black liberation must be prioritized.
