Walking at night can be dangerous, but bright streetlights and clear crosswalks help drivers see people in the dark.
Easy tips for nighttime safety:
🚗 Drivers: Turn on your headlights and slow down in dark areas.
🚶 Pedestrians: Wear bright or reflective clothes and carry a light.
🛣️ Communities: Add streetlights and bright crosswalk markings.
Let's keep everyone visible and safe after dark!

#PedestrianSafetyMonth
This Pedestrian Safety Month, remind yourself that shorter days and evening commutes require extra caution. ⚠️
🚗 Drivers: Slow down, especially at crosswalks and in hard-to-see conditions.
🚶 Pedestrians: Follow the rules of the road and use crosswalks when available.
Sadly, a pedestrian is killed every 74 minutes in traffic crashes.
Remember, at some point in the day EVERYONE is a pedestrian:
🚶➡️ Follow the rules of the road
🚶➡️ Use crosswalks when available
🚶➡️ Walk on sidewalks when available
🚘 Look out for pedestrians and minimize blind spots
🚘 Be careful in hard-to-see conditions
🚘 Yield to pedestrians in crosswalks
@visegrad24 That is stupid, you feel good with whom you are. Acknowledge your opportunities but be a change in this world to provide similar opportunities to others and always do good to others.
Crossing a busy road? Remember: PUSH. WAIT. CROSS. 🚨
This Pedestrian Safety Month, learn how to use Pedestrian Hybrid Beacons (PHBs)―one of FHWA's proven safety countermeasures―to stay safe on high-speed streets:
1️⃣ PUSH: Press the button to activate the PHBs.
2️⃣ WAIT: Wait for yellow lights to flash to alert drivers to slow down and prepare to stop.
3️⃣ CROSS: Walk safely after cars have stopped.
Using PHB signals can cut pedestrian crashes by up to 55%!

October is National Pedestrian Safety Month! 🚶♀️✨
When you see a Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) at a crosswalk, hit the brakes! RRFBs use bright LED lights to warn drivers when someone is crossing.
Why RRFBs help make crossings safer:
⚡ Bright lights get drivers' attention fast.
🛑 Drivers stop so people can cross safely.
🛡️ Cuts pedestrian crashes by up to 47%!
Look out for pedestrians and yield at crosswalks!

@dylanmatt@DrewSav At the minimum should have an exception to allow another stop for Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico and other US territories. Doesn’t make sense a lot of shipments pass these States and territories and can’t stop because it would cost them more.
@CNNPolitics Can this people stop saying stupid stuff. I mean without goingbof purpose you can’t force a grown man to do a medical exam and tell the nation.
@PpollingNumbers House Democrats also need to be aware that in those government agencies work a lot of people that depends of that work to live and shouldn’t be use as a pawn for political reason. Either party. @RepJeffries
@Metrorailinfo, lately at Greenbelt Metro station you have two trains with the information what line it is off. Creating confusion if is the green or yellow line. Please do better.
