If true (my intuition says it is) this should immediately justify drafting articles of impeachment against her as the current Lt. Governor of Minnesota
It also should disqualify her from being considered for the Democrat nomination for the open US Senate seat in Minnesota
I believe in Minnesotans. Thank you, former Senator Jeff Hayden, for your words on @tptAlmanac. The unity among our leaders right now is undeniable—we can build off of this moment to grow together as a legislature. It’s about putting people first, treating each other with dignity, and fighting fair.
This starts with us as leaders setting the example. But it also requires the people to support us, not vilify us for working across the aisle. It demands that outside campaign spending groups dial back the toxic rhetoric and stop the dirty fights. And it calls on the media to be truly unbiased, giving us a fair chance to heal.
Minnesota, we can rise to this. I believe in us. 🇺🇸
I am saddened and shocked over the horrific news and loss of Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband. I also lift Senator Hoffman and his wife up in prayer for a full recovery. This was a selfish act of violence and pray comfort for their family and friends during this uncertain time.
This week, Action4Liberty falsely accused Republican legislators of voting to fund abortions. That claim is not only false — it’s shameful.
Fortunately, Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life ( @MCCL_org ), a respected leader in the pro-life movement, issued a strong public letter correcting the record and defending our Republican legislators.
As MCCL explained clearly, taxpayer-funded abortion in Minnesota is the result of a 1995 Minnesota Supreme Court ruling (Doe v. Gomez) — not because of any vote by Republicans. The bill in question had no impact on that reality, and Republicans had no opportunity to change it.
We can and should fight hard. But there is a difference between toughness and recklessness, between conviction and cruelty.
There is a line of decency, decorum, and truthfulness that we must uphold. If we do, voters will notice the difference — they will trust us more, listen to our message, and support our cause.
Having a really fantastic day together! Here are some other great photos from our May session at the Minnesota State Capitol. Thank you to @MNHistoryCenter for the guided tour!
“The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.””
Matthew 28:5-7 NIV
Great day at the Capitol with my fellow Minnesota Federation of Republican Women - @MNFRW.
Former State Representative Kathy Tingelstad is a dear friend and mentor who first encouraged me to get involved in the @mngop 10 years ago. I’m am thankful for her continued leadership and dedication to mentoring Republican Women.
Alina Habba: "President Trump has just put out a statement that he has appointed me as the interim U.S. attorney for the state of New Jersey, my home state...There is corruption, there is injustice, and there is a heavy amount of crime right in Cory Booker's backyard."
The MNYRs sent a group out to Wisconsin this weekend to door knock for Brad Schimel for Supreme Court! We were apart of a national team that did 10,000+ voter contacts! #recruittrainelect#buildthebench@yrnational
I stand 100% behind my vote to condemn the organization, @action_liberty .
The purpose of the Republican Party of Minnesota is to get Republicans elected. The @MNGOP is a nearly all volunteer organization with ONLY two paid elected officers; Chairman Alex Plechash and Deputy Chair Donna Bergstrom. Even as the Secretary of the MNGOP, I am a volunteer.
Since 2016 I have been a volunteer in the MNGOP, donating my time and talents to help get Republicans elected at EVERY level. In that time I have seen first hand how A4L has sowed the seeds of division and fanned the flames of discord within our organization. Many of our volunteers have felt the sting of this at caucuses, county conventions, state conventions and our State Central Committee meetings. I believe, because if this, they are the biggest threat to the work we do and greatly limit our capacity by distracting us from our purpose.
This past week, at the MNGOP State Executive Meeting, Erik Mortensen walked in after the meeting had already started, as if he owned the place. He proceeded to sit right next to me at the front of the table where I sit next to the Chairman. While I was trying to take the minutes, I directly told him I was not comfortable with him sitting next to me. Instead of moving, he proceeded to then sit behind me in a more intimidating position. I then told him I was not ok with him sitting behind me. He still did not move, so it was at this point I stopped taking the minutes and proceeded to pick up my computer and things and moved away from him. I then asked the Chairman to pause the meeting so I could get situated and proceed taking the minutes. Still Mortensen did not move. It wasn’t until another strong woman volunteer in our organization, National Committeewoman Emily Novotny Chance, called for an executive session so that Mortensen could be removed from our meeting.
After the week we have had in the MNGOP, I no longer have tolerance for weak-minded men who want to intimidate women, especially strong devoted women in our organization, like Tiffany Lesmeister-Knott of CD7. If the male-only leadership of A4L want to pick a fight with the strong Republican women of the MNGOP I will expel them everywhere and I call on all my sisters and brothers to do the same and stand firm with me and fervently defend the women in our organization that A4L clearly only seeks to intimidate, publicly punish, and discredit the work we do.
Who is with me?!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 21, 2025
Statement from Republican Party of Minnesota Chair Alex Plechash on Executive Committee Action Regarding Action 4 Liberty.
Last night, the Republican Party of Minnesota's Executive Committee passed a motion brought forward by Sixth Congressional District Chair Bobby Benson to formally address concerns related to the conduct of Action 4 Liberty’s leadership.
While it is not typical for the Republican Party of Minnesota to issue official declarations about individual organizations, the State Executive Committee determined that doing so at this time was appropriate.
The Chair and Deputy Chair of the party abstained from the vote. A majority of Executive Committee members voted in favor of the resolution, while others opposed it. The motion was debated in executive session and reflected differing views on both the substance and the timing of the action.
The Executive Committee’s declaration reads:
"The Republican Party of Minnesota fully and unequivocally condemns the actions and behavior of the leadership at Action for Liberty.
Action for Liberty’s leadership has made it clear that they are more concerned with tearing down Republicans in Minnesota than they are with our party's purpose of electing Republicans to office and supporting our incumbents.
Unfortunately it goes beyond attacking publicly elected officials as they are continuing their practice of publicly doxxing in-the-trenches volunteers for daring to do something they don't agree with.
Many of those who support Action for Liberty may be good, honest people who want to see real change in Minnesota, but the leadership of the organization instead works only to enrich themselves, attack those actually making a difference, and claim victories they had nothing to do with.”
As Chair, my focus remains on electing Republicans to the U.S. Senate, Congress, statewide offices, and winning control of the Minnesota Legislature. At a time when Minnesotans are increasingly disillusioned by the failed policies of Tim Walz and the Democrats, our job is to offer a better path forward — grounded in conservative principles and a commitment to results.

Thank you Speaker @LisaDemuthMN and the entire @MNHouseGOP.
My family and so many Minnesota parents and their daughters are feeling hopeful by these actions. As the @MNGOP Secretary, I cannot express enough how incredibly proud I am of all of you and so thankful for your grit and determination to keep our children safe and fight for our parental rights.
