This matters. And it matters that thousands of intercountry adoptees—adults now but adopted as children by US citizen parents decades ago—still cannot get this sticker today.
@LgFski@eeka1313@rebel19 You're not doing your best, Louisa. You've shown us that you are not capable or qualified. And you've certainly shown us that you don't know when to walk away. You need to silence yourself and listen to ADOPTEES - those of us most impacted by adoption, but who had no say. Try it.
@adopteelaw UGH. Unsurprisingly @KAnthonyAppiah fails on adoption, again. His complete ignorance of what it's like for adoptees, and his unwillingness to learn, is pathetic. I find it highly ironic that he authored a book called #TheEthicsOfIdentity . Seriously????
@mindyonrye Full on crying. Thank you for writing so poignantly, and for sharing so beautifully what I feel deeply but struggle to express. It is so very appreciated. 💓🙌🏼
I appreciate my fellow adoptees so very much.
I feel like I know many of you, but am so bad at
all attachment-related.
Thank you. Please keep feeling, speaking, writing and sharing
where, when & how it's ok, for
you.
🤗🙌🏼💓
THREAD: Below is the annual income of recently surveyed first/birth mothers during pregnancy. Economic precarity is the #1 reason people place a child for adoption, where parental rights & often access to their child is terminated forever. #Birthmother#Birthparent#Adoption
@Iwontusemyrealn @libbyking@SteveHa2400@BransonBerger15@Chasten Just to *attempt* to help you understand...are YOU adopted? If not, all you have to do is LISTEN to #adopteevoices We're here, and despite how much we may love our adoptive families, we have feelings.
@kristiprenn@NaZCasey ewwwwwwwww. i'm sorry for whatever unhappiness you may, or may not, have endured. But I really would love if you listened to some #adopteevoices 💔
