My heart is deeply saddened by the Kariba boat tragedy, which has claimed 44 lives, while search and recovery efforts continue.
As a mother, I grieve with the families who have lost their loved ones and share in their unimaginable sorrow. My thoughts and prayers are with all the affected families, while we continue to pray for those still missing.
May God comfort and strengthen the bereaved families, guide the teams tirelessly involved in the search and rescue efforts, and grant our nation strength during this difficult time.
In quiet procession, the bodies of those lost in the Kariba ferry disaster have arrived at Nyamhunga Stadium.
A memorial service will be held here before the final journey to burial. Families gather. A nation mourns.
At least 44 lives taken when the overloaded vessel met strong waves on Lake Kariba. Seventy-seven survived. Many still carry the weight of questions and grief.
May the waters that claimed them now hold their memory with peace.
