I’m sorry I didn’t raise my voice when I first saw the signs.
I’m sorry I didn’t ask 100 more questions.
I’m sorry I didn’t weep with you when you wept.
These are the words we long to hear from our “spiritual” mothers and fathers.
May my children never know this pain.
@jburn @preacher9mm @MikeWingerii Joanna I completely agree with you. Imo it would be so impactful to hear from those who were deep in it, knew it well from the inside out, and can now speak with clarity on the numerous errors, both docrinal and ecclesiological errors. Unfortunately this is a massive undertaking.
@autocorrect2_0 I like to think of it as an accordion, the folds are Revelation but when you expand it you get the whole Old Testament.
I was wondering if you have a list of the 800 allusions you’ve found? I’ve been wanting to study it again.
@jonochall IMO the emphasis of the stories of people who turned to God should be on the character of God, and the hunger of the person who sought him rather than the means. I’ve stopped asking “how”, and ask “why” instead. In that answer I’ve seen more clearly the kind governance of Jesus.

@TheGraciaNope they were harmful and ugly and I witnessed that. Because of you and your relentless desire for speak out when it was risky, I am more resolved to handle every story of SA with sobriety and care. Your bravery and resilience is beyond admirable. Your story is neither lost nor over.
@TheGraciaNope Gracia, For what it’s worth, we’ve never met but I know your name and your story. My jaw was on the floor and I wept the first time I heard it. I know the names of the people who brought you more harm when you sought justice. I’ve watched the alternative narratives unfold, and…
@EthanByerly@ihopkc In my experience there it was never explicitly taught as a “biblical mandate” but rather a “prophetic” one. However the teaching of biblical priesthood and the prophetic mandate were conflated so consistently and thoroughly it was difficult separate the two. Super manipulative.
@LynetteF316 @jonochall My understanding is statute of limitations where the crimes occurred prohibit prosecution, and in the other cases, Missouri laws are not strong enough to convict him for adult clergy SA. But I’m not a lawyer this is just my limited understanding of this complicated mess.
