I originally loved Twitter for its brevity, but now it seems like there are way too many “show more” prompts.
What used to be concise opinions in 280 characters have turned into lengthy essays. This is becoming a problem.
This is my internal rebuttal when I hear "it was never about coding".
Ahem but it *was*. Most of the time, for most of us. At 23, working on Google Ads, I didn't wake up in the morning eager to put more ads in the world. I was excited to work with smart people on hard technical problems, i.e. to code.
It was never about coding for the ones who only saw their profession as a means to get rich.
I'm using AI coding every day because it makes me more productive. But it costs me a lot of joy.
