@gonortheast this is starting to become a problem, every other day this week, the Q3 has either been cancelled or just hasn't bothered turning up and it's always the Wallsend services that suffer
@TyneFlashback Alexander Leyland Atlantean 502 is seen working service 127 to Hylton Castle, and wearing the two-tone livery that was introduced in 1975, but was being phased out around the time the 5xx batch were being delivered. 502-505 and 521 were the only ones to carry it.
@TyneFlashback For 3 weeks during July/early August 1984, BR conducted resistance trials where two Class 37's which had been re-geared to allow 100mph, would uncouple the APT on the racing stretch of the ECML, allowing them to coast to a stop.
@TyneFlashback Metro apologises for any inconvenience caused. Alexander Leyland Atlantean 145 is seen at Gateshead Interchange, whilst on Metro replacement duties to Heworth.
@JohnApplebyLD@TyneFlashback@My_Metro The reason for the enclosed cabs is down to Network Rail, to run on Network Rail metal, the trains have to meet their crashworthiness standards and comply with modern safety regulations.
@ArthurWithouter@TyneFlashback None of the liveries were "retro", nor the buses old stock. The MCW Metrobus was practically brand new in 1986, and the Olympian and Bristol were only 4 and 5 years old. The Go-Ahead Northern livery was also new, having been applied to the fleet upon deregulation.
