Lack of awareness. Lack of Discipline. I am out on Quinn. He always looks like he is about to cry. He is not a serious person. Every press release he has the same weak ass statement. Next week nothing changes. We have pieces on this team to be competitive. We just need a competent coach.
@Joshua_the_car You working OT on twitter. Very conspicuous. Seems non-organic. Either that or you have down syndrome and should be wearing a helmet with a sippy cup for drool.
Ironically, if you read the Straussian moment and understand Thiel's analysis of Strauss, Nick himself would be a Straussian in practice, just not in service of Jewry
Specifically, that Nick understands the fundamental questions that undermine liberalism, that his show is a performance separate from esoteric goals, and that there are moral gray areas as he attempts to restore, reform, or revolutionize our decaying political order
Because Strauss himself shared a lot of Schmitt's concerns about liberalism and the nature of politics
He also treats Athens and Jerusalem as an enduring philosophical problem, or at least he has taken this approach recently (Strauss viewed these as needing reconciliation)
Where he diverges is that Strauss wanted a return to classical thinking without the "Bronze Age" means that would beget something like that, a compromise between Locke and Schmitt's critique of liberalism
Strauss also wanted to preserve liberalism, which Nick doesn't want to do (though I would doubt Nick agrees on the "bronze age" chaos that is sort of implicit to a lot of Schmittian or Nietzschean political philosophy)
But he aligns on Athens and Jerusalem as conflict, the taken assumption of natural rights, the aversion to modern political theory, understanding without membership in philosophical/political communities, but, really most critically, understanding contradictions of the modern world and liberalism as a whole, rolling these things back, but trying to preserve at least the good, if not the means by which liberalism has achieved the good, and doing so through exo/esoteric means and highlighting the need for exceptional action
Strauss shared a lot with Schmitt, but he was primarily concerned with reconciling the ills of liberalism with classical thought, keeping liberalism but accepting the world as it is and allowing the discussion of uncomfortable truths
Of course, you can use the fallacy of appealing to motive, but whether Strauss did so to save Jews or not is secondary to the question of whether they would agree philosophically and politically on the issues that interested Strauss
@Joshua_the_car@Egyptoid You're fighting for a third-worlder who literally scammed his way to a fortune on the backs of hard-working Americans. That's sickening. Also, you believe his stance on all of those policies? Naive at best. Complete fool at worst.
