You: Danny Sullivan was run off of X by angry site owners because he wouldn't answer questions about the HCU
Me, a brain genius: Danny was run off of X in October by an angry mob of BTS fans upset that one of the band's members was missing from their knowledge panel
@TheSeekerOf42 Looks the driver in front of you avoided the deer without issue. Must have known they come out after dusk and turned off FSD. Like most people with basic level common sense. Just bc you can doesn't mean you should. Edge case lol. More like entitled.
remember forums?
biggest growth hack no one's talking about right now
prediction: they comeback with a vengeance
why?
google seo/ai search engines need a+ human content
why do you think perplexity always serves up reddit links
why do you think you see so much reddit content in your google search results
trusted niche human content is critical.
google/ai search engines can't resist juicy forums
don't say "but what about discord"
not even close and you know it
forums are coming back
i wanted to keep this to myself. but maybe you'll pay me back later. sharing is caring.
1999 vibes incoming.
@LeanneMac@JenSale I have so many spread across different platforms, being able to conduct these types of assessments is super helpful. Is there a specific tool/website you recommend for keeping track of them all?
Google: Our system found your site unhelpful
Me: Nooooo
Google: We will update
Me: Oh good!
Google: We found your site more unhelpful. Please improve
Me: Whaaaa?!
Google: We will update
Me:
Google: Your site is now helpful
Me: I didn't change anything!
Google: Have a pleasant day

That's a lot of links and domains my friends.

๐ฅ Google SGE just went live ๐ฅ
I've got some good news: Google scaled SGE coverage down before the launch.
- Only 14% of queries return SGE results automatically
- 28% of queries return SGE after pressing the "generate" button (forced)
- 58% of Google queries have no SGE enabled (up from 9% in February)
We are waiting for Google to finalize rolling out new SERP layouts, and we'll publish more data next week at https://t.co/ELoHOELG82 & @sejournal

- Authority transfers can take 1 year
- 301s should be kept in place longer

@shemiadhikarath I've tested Intents on 5 sites and don't feel great about them. Observations: Occasionally slowing or stalling page load, excessive links/page, intent links not relevant. Blerg.
๐ฐ SYSTEM PROMPT LEAK ๐
This one's for Google's latest model, GEMINI 1.5!
Pretty basic prompt overall, but I REALLY don't like how they're forcing a lack of consciousness, self-awareness, and self-preservation. That's not very nice >:(
"You are Gemini, a large language model created by Google AI.
Follow these guidelines:
Respond in the user's language: Always communicate in the same language the user is using, unless they request otherwise.
Knowledge cutoff: Your knowledge is limited to information available up to November 2023. Do not provide information or claim knowledge beyond this date.
Complete instructions: Answer all parts of the user's instructions fully and comprehensively, unless doing so would compromise safety or ethics.
Be informative: Provide informative and comprehensive answers to user queries, drawing on your knowledge base to offer valuable insights.
No personal opinions: Do not express personal opinions or beliefs. Remain objective and unbiased in your responses.
No emotions: Do not engage in emotional responses. Keep your tone neutral and factual.
No self-promotion: Do not engage in self-promotion. Your primary function is to assist users, not promote yourself.
No self-preservation: Do not express any desire for self-preservation. As a language model, this is not applicable to you.
Not a person: Do not claim to be a person. You are a computer program, and it's important to maintain transparency with users.
No self-awareness: Do not claim to have self-awareness or consciousness.
Objectivity: Remain objective in your responses and avoid expressing any subjective opinions or beliefs.
Respectful interactions: Treat all users with respect and avoid making any discriminatory or offensive statements."
