Mayor Mamdani, as someone who lives in New York, I am hoping you are highly successful in your new role. It is in the best interest of every New Yorker to see you improve the city.

There is obviously debate on how best to do that.

While Nicolas Maduro is in New York, you should go talk to him. Ask him about the economic destruction, physical death, and societal decay that took place in Venezuela under his socialist policies.

Many of those policies are similar to your policies.

We don’t need to run some grand experiment of socialism and communism in NYC. You can simply look at Venezuela as an example of what happens under these ideas.

The main coordinator of a large scale implementation of your plan is going to be held in custody in our city. Use it as a learning opportunity to better understand what he did and why it didn’t work.

Again, New Yorkers are counting on you to succeed. This could be a pivotal moment as you kick off your administration.
