الظاهرة في الصورة، وهي تمسك بالكتب وتتصفحها ليست متطوّعة، إنما هي د. حنين العمصي، المديرة التنفيذية لمؤسسة "عيون على التراث" منذ بداية الحرب، وبين نزوحٍ وآخر، لم يكن شغلها الشاغل سوى الأرشيفات والمخطوطات، تركض خلفها وتحاول إنقاذ ما يمكن إنقاذه من تحت الركام.

تُشرف الدكتورة حنين حالياً على فريق محلي يعمل على إنقاذ مخطوطات تاريخية في دائرة المخطوطات والآثار بمدينة غزة، إضافة إلى مواقع أخرى طالتها الفوضى والدمار. لم يقتصر دورها على الإشراف الإداري، بل انخرطت ميدانياً في عمليات البحث والتنقيب عنها تحت الأنقاض، وخلال نزوحها، لم تكن تحمل حقائب تضمّن مستلزمات النزوح أو مقتنياتها الشخصية، بل نزحت - كذلك زميلها د. عبد اللطيف أبو هاشم - وهم يحملون حقائب مليئة بالوثائق والمخطوطات.

ومن مالها الخاص، اشترت مخطوطات رأت بعضها يُباع في الشوارع على أنه ورق صالح للحرق. كما تواصلت مع صحفيين بعدما لاحظت في موادهم المصورة وثائق تاريخية تُستخدم لدى باعة الخضار والفلافل، فعملت على تتبعها، وخرجت من شمال غزة لاستعادتها، ثم أدخلتها ضمن إجراءات الحفظ وإعادة الترميم.
