@SeanKGriffiths There were conversations online, but the dominant conversation that's overhanging everything is the Israel game. This goes back to my original point and the subject of a purity test that takes away from the core issue; why is a nation that breaks FIFA rules playing football?

This entire conversation is a mass scale purity test of international sport without addressing why people don't want Israel playing Ireland in international football. Amongst a number of reasons is the fact that Israel repeatedly breaks FIFA rules.

But that same group think it’s ok that Ireland are going to play cricket against Afghanistan.

@SeanKGriffiths That's massively generalising. People called out Richie Sadlier for Qatar, and he has commented numerous times during the World Cup in 2022 about their sportswashing. If we focus on everything at once nothing is focused on, and Israel being in FIFA is a major issue.

🇫🇷🏆🏆 - Les Qataris ont acheté le PSG en 2011 pour 70 à 100 millions $. Aujourd’hui, le club vaut + de 5 milliards $ et il est le seul club français à avoir remporté 2 Ligues des champions.

En 2011, il prend le contrôle d’un club à la dérive. En 2026, c’est une machine à cash, peuplée des meilleurs joueurs du monde.

Chaque année, le PSG génère plus de 800 millions d’euros. Depuis l’arrivée des Qataris, le club a rapporté + 3 milliards d’euros à l’État.

Nasser Al-Khelaïfi à sa tête, Paris change de dimension. Javier Pastore, Thiago Silva, Ibrahimović ou Beckham rejoignent le club. Paris est champion en 2013 et s’affirme en Ligue des champions, échouant face au Barça en quarts.

Malgré l'arrivée de Neymar (222 M€) et Mbappé (180 M€), les échecs s’enchaînent en Europe : la « Remontada » de Barcelone (2017) ou l’élimination contre Manchester United (2019). Paris continue de dominer la Ligue 1 mais n’arrive pas à franchir le cap européen.

Sans Mbappé, Messi ou Neymar, Paris remporte enfin la Ligue des champions. Après avoir battu Manchester City, Liverpool, Aston Villa et Arsenal, le PSG écrase l’Inter Milan 5-0 en finale. Objectif atteint 14 ans après l’arrivée du Qatar. Aujourd'hui ils ont remporté la 2ème ligue des champions !

Le PSG est devenu une marque mondiale. Avant, les touristes qui débarquaient à Paris repartaient avec un sac Louis Vuitton ou Chanel. Aujourd’hui ? Ils achètent le maillot du PSG.
