Once I cared about meaningless political drama beyond my control. Now I have cancer and just chillax all day with my wife. I should have not cared sooner.
@critterspud Bro, just send me a DM.
This gibberish you’re posting isn’t a good look for you.
I want to talk about any and everything but not publicly and certainly not on Twitter.
I love you dearly. Can’t wait to see you again.
@ahowell1167@critterspud I wouldnt say its my worst fear but, the idea of never seeing or speaking to my dear brother again is a top 5 fear easy.
It’s worse b/c the reasons you invented to justify abandoning the family are so lame and nonsenseical to any sober human.
Even still we love you. Come home.
@Crustyone2 I own an AK47.
Its a cool piece of history, a joy to operate, and brilliantly designed.
But, the fact is its a killing machine, fundamentally. I bought it from a guys driveway. Paid cash. He had no idea if I was a homicidal maniac. Didnt even ask.
I think this is also insane.
@Crustyone2 Yes, these are reasonable ideas, imho.
I think 1st we end the toxic media culture on the issue so that mass shooters get zero recognition.
Also, agree that ‘wild’ guns (I like that phrase ‘wild guns’) is an insurmountable problem for prohibition.
@midwingradical @BetoORourke No this is very hard and extremely complicated. This problem isn’t solved by some simplistic unsophisticated prohibition.
Again, I ask you, since guns are commonly sold in private unrecorded transactions, how will you know who to send to jail?
@Crustyone2 Agreed.
Do you see any viable solutions other than prohibition/confiscation?
I think there should be mandatory background checks and training. Similar to the process for getting a concealed carry permit.
Also, end media hysteria over mass shootings. No more fame for killers.
@Crustyone2@BetoORourke More gun violence, paradoxically.
Hell, I’d wager the law leads to more gun violence than it prevented.
I’m not making value judgments here, I don’t know what the moral answer is, it’s very complicated.
What do you think? How should we address gun violence?
@Crustyone2@BetoORourke It really depends on the consequences and the threat I suppose.
As a negotion tactic unhinged threats should always be in your arsenal, at the very least.
@Crustyone2@BetoORourke Because I am a gun owner and gun ownership is very common where I live. I know how they think.
They consider the 2nd Ammendment to be as important a right as the 1st Amendment in defending against tyranny.
It’s deeply rooted in the culture and it’s not losing ground.
@Crustyone2@BetoORourke I can imagine futures where the govt could successfully enforce that law.
But Barring some horrific totalitarian nightmare scenario, I say with high confidence not in our lifetime.
I live deep in the red states and the scale of gun ownership is staggering.
