@bshelburne Executions have psychological impacts on the whole state. I remember working a job and everyone in the restraunt was talking about this Nathaniel Wood's execution. It made me feel like the role of executions are just messaging. Terrible realization.

You are more likely to be denied parole in Alabama if you are Black. The board has denied 90 PERCENT of parole eligible Black people and 77 PERCENT of white applicants. This is happening during a federal lawsuit over violent prison overcrowding & a global pandemic. #dobetter

Mass incarceration was never about justice. 1977 growth industry = 860 prisons built for $5 billion- "that means business for contractors, architects & equipment producers who have been hard hit by the decline in school & public housing projects." It has always been about money.
