I believe Jesus is the Son of God, and I have eternal access to relationship with God through the cross.
If this is true, why would I make anything else on this earth my #1 pursuit as I have done so often?
In the end, everything we know will be gone, besides him.
Everything we cared about so much that proved to just be a distraction from our true purpose and calling in Christ.
I don't want to face him knowing I spent the majority of my life doing everything but believing him and knowing him.
I am at the point where I am tired of pursuing distractions that don't satisfy my longing to know him more.
He paid a price to know me, and for me to know him
I am going after knowing him, and making him known
God knows exactly what you are experiencing
He understands who you are right now,
And who you will be if you could see yourself as he sees you
You may not understand why you feel this way right now,
But trust the one who knows all things
Peace will come
Keep in mind Satan always takes a risk when testing and tempting you
The greater the temptation, the greater opportunity for you to grow in resilience
The deeper the suffering, the more your character becomes refined
Every painful experience is an opportunity for growth
The best way for Christians to end abortion is to create disciples, not vote every 4 years. Doing both is of course good, but just about everyone acts as if voting is enough (by their actions). They show passion for voting, and none for discipleship and sharing the gospel with people. Voting is great and needed, but it won’t change things in the long run since laws don’t change hearts. Discipleship is the only way for lasting change.
Why does God judge us?
It’s not because God is a bully or one who makes arbitrary standards so he can judge people unfairly.
It’s because we have all done evil and will one day be judged by God’s righteous and holy standard. That standard seems too strict to us for the same reason that laws usually seem too strict from the perspective of the one who has just been caught violating them.
God judges based on the standard of his own holiness. It’s not arbitrary or unjust. But it sure seems impossible for us to meet that standard, doesn’t it?
This is why Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through him. He gets the judgment against our sin on himself at the cross. And we get eternal life in him who rose from the dead.
What work must you do to receive this? In Jesus’ own words, “believe.”
Not an empty mental affirmation. Real faith that naturally leads to a change in life through the power of God.
@positivescripts So true, or men think acting on anger and fits of rage displays strength, when it is the most clear indicator of weakness there is
It all stems from insecurity
Don’t forget,
Every single person was created to fulfill their design
We are here to be temples of the Holy Spirit
To host the very essence of God’s goodness on this earth
Nothing else matters more than your walk with God
@positivescripts Could not be more true,
When you lean on others perspectives on a consistent basis,
your decisions become the product of others half-baked impressions and assumptions
Nobody knows you better than you
You are your own expert
@starwardshar For me the feeling of being overwhelmed typically is triggered from the thought
"I am not doing enough"
"I am doing something wrong"
Instead, I have learned to trust in my ability to learn as I go
I want the outcome no doubt
But I need to trust the process
@AlbanVillaret Most people are afraid to find what is underneath the surface
It takes on with courage to face it, and reap the reward of greater insight
