Watching the Capitol violently seized was horrifying, sickening, and sad. One of the most painful images was seeing the Confederate Flag carried through the Capitol, a flag which represents racism. This is the place where Rosa Parks and John Lewis and others have lain in state.

It’s happened again. A white woman accuses a Black young man of stealing her iPhone which she had left in a Uber. These situations happen every day; they are made public when a high status person is involved. When are we going to deal with unconscious bias that is within us all?
