#CLST6 so excited to share my #project4 with all of you. For my project I both reconstructed (images below) and researched a ring from the tomb of the Griffin Warrior in Pylos. The ring is evidence of how Mycenaeans were heavily influenced by Minoan religion and art. /1

All of this clear overlap in the religious imagery on Mycenaean signet rings and seals and Minoan signet rings and seals clearly demonstrates that Mycenaeans were influenced by Minoan religion and art. /24

Hey #CLST6 ! In this thread I’m going to take a look closer at this Gold Ring found at the Tomb of the Griffin Warrior at the Palace of Nestor in Pylos (1) (Image below). What first caught my attention about this ring was the female figure depicted in the center of the ring. /1

I want to close with one last thing which is that this religious influence did not just appear on art, but it actually influenced the Mycenaean culture, which is why it started to appear on their art. /26
